PROCEDURES

Students may check out one book at a time until the individual has proven to be responsible. Due dates are 3 weeks from checkout.

If a borrowed item is lost, students will have to pay the replacement cost.

Students are not to bring any food or beverages to the Library Media Center (LMC).

A copy machine is available for students to copy school-related materials.

Study Hall students must get a colored library pass before the class starts if they want to come to the Library Media Center. The pass is shown to the study hall teacher and then the students immediately come to the library and turn in the pass at the desk upon their arrival and are to stay in the LMC the entire period.

Teachers can reserve the computer lab, reading room, or laptops for class use on a first come-first served basis.

Books are arranged by the Dewey Decimal Classification System.  Biographies have the call number 921 and that person's last name.

Fiction books are arranged alphabetically by the author's last name. Short Story books will have the letters SC as part of the call number on the spine of the book.

Reference books, Professional books, and North Dakota books will have REF, PROF., or ND above the call number on the spine of the book and they are located in the Reference Room.

All Accelerated Reader books have a yellow dot on the spine with the number of points the quiz is worth.  The reading level is on the inside flyleaf of the book. To find out if an unmarked book has an AR test, go to www.arbookfind.com and search the title or the author.
