Instructional and Professional Development The duties shall be to make arrangements for a program of interest and of professional value to the members of the association to be given at each regular meeting of the general assembly. This committee shall acquaint members with the services, materials, and resources available to members of the profession through NEA and NDEA. They should also explore in-service training programs that might be instituted by the association. This committee shall consist of three members, the chairperson shall be the official contact to and for the NDEA-IPD. |

Social and Honors The duties shall be to make all necessary arrangements for any and all social functions and the May Honors Banquet of the association |

Legislative and Civic This committee shall disseminate legislative information affecting teachers and education to members of the association. |
||
Scholarship This committee shall encourage good citizenship and civic responsibility among members of the association. They shall also select and award scholarships to association member's children. |
||
Professional Rights and Responsibilities The duties shall be to educate members about rights and responsibilities, to provide professional rights by providing a grievance process, to assure high professional standards by implementing the Code of Ethics, to request aid (when necessary) from the state and national education associations in dealing with school controversies and conflicts, to communicate with the state and national commissions concerning criticism of schools, and to provide consultation service for members of the local association who have problems related to their work of professional welfare that has not been or cannot be taken care of through other channels. The committee shall have a minimum of one member from each building. |

Negotiations The duties shall be to 1) see to matters affecting the welfare of members of the association, 2) survey members affecting the salary and welfare situation, 3) plan long and short term goals for negotiations, and 4) present the wishes of the association regarding salary, welfare provisions, working conditions, and other matters of mutual concern with the school board or whenever possible the administration. |

Curriculum The duties of this committee shall be to act as a coordinating committee rather than a directive committee. The committee should act to disseminate information concerning curriculum work in progress in this school system and information concerning pertinent work being done in other systems. The committee should provide the means for presenting completed curriculum work to the administration. |

Nominations The duties shall be to meet and select candidates for the offices of president-elect and secretary-treasurer. |
||
Public Relations The duties are to disseminate to local news media the new items of the local association and in other ways publicize activities of the association including American Education Week. |
||
